She s not your typical real estate photographer
Jamie actually loves real estate just as much as most real estate agents do, and this is exactly why we brought her on the show for Episode 31.
I wanted to start a conversation about real estate photography for REALTOR® s to learn from so that they can be better educated and informed about this subject. It s important today for agents to be knowledgeable in this because;
“The first showing is taking place online today…”

Unfortunately, there are a lot of bad real estate photographers and companies out there servicing the real estate community. We see some of these companies trying to upsell for photo processing and HDR services when it may not actually be necessary for agents to purchase. Furthermore, we believe that real estate agents should be demanding a higher level of service from real estate photographers.
By informing and educating real estate agents more about real estate photography we can raise the level of service required to be able to properly market a home online today.
Check Out Jamie’s Work
Jamie is one of the best Chicagoland real estate photographers that I know.
Just because I’m a real estate photographer and technically Jamie and the company she works for are my competition, I believe showcasing her talents and professionalism can help set a high level of service that real estate agents should expect from their photographer.
Zimpelmann delivers on providing a high level of service for her clients and the results speak for themselves. Today, she has agents who will only use her for photographing their listings and she receives a ton of referrals from her agents.
Click the image below to check out a property that Jamie shot which was also featured in a print architectural magazine. It’s pretty awesome.
The listing agent of this property was Joe Kunkel, 312-371-0986.

Tips for finding a good real estate photographer
Not all real estate photographers are created equal. Because there is more demand for professional real estate photography there an increase of new companies and photographers entering into the real estate business to meet this demand.
But how do you know if you’re working with a good photographer?
A good photographer will have professional equipment, an online portfolio, and will perform post processing on all their images. Use these three factors to help you evaluate different real estate photographers.
1. A Portfolio: A good photographer will have a portfolio online of their work. It’s very easy and affordable today to be able host your own website, or even use Facebook, to showcase your working online for potential clients to view. If the photographer you’re checking into doesn’t have one, then he/she might not be the right fit for you.
2. Professional Equipment: A professional photographer will have professional equipment. They should not be using a consumer point and shoot camera or even their iPhone to shoot your listing with. If the photographer you’re checking into doesn’t have a DSLR camera with a wide angle lens, then he/she might not be the right fit for you.
3. Post Processing: A professional photographer edits and post processes every photo. When you’re using a DSLR camera the image being captured is actually not complete when first taken. The image is only completed when they are taken back into a computer and edited in a professional editing software like Adobe Lightroom.
Hope this helps…
