Before you can start filming videos you need to determine what kind of videos you’re going to make.
There are several types of videos a Realtor can start creating, and in this article we’re going to break those down and show you some examples of other real estate agents actually doing it.
Let’s begin the lesson.
Where to Start?
You need to ask yourself these questions.
1. What is the purpose of the video?
2. Where do you plan on using the video?
Every video should have a specific purpose because the video is not for you. It’s for your customers and prospects. The content and the messaging in your video should be 100% about them 90% of the time.
Meaning you’re using a “Give, Give, Give, then Ask” type of strategy.
If done correctly Video provides a platform for a real estate agent to share their knowledge and a piece of who they are personally with the world, and that is what the world wants. They definitely don’t want a sales pitch.
Different Types of Videos
When we break it down there are several types a video you can be creating in your business. You don’t have to be making all of these types of videos, but you do want to take a look at where you feel videos can help your business. It’s going to be different for each agent.
Some agents only do Virtual Tours, while others only make videos for YouTube. There’s no right or wrong answers.

Examples of Videos
Below you’re going to find examples of various videos created by real estate agents. Some were created by myself and others I found on YouTube.
Use these examples to help you find inspiration and creativity when you begin to make your own videos.
Introduction Videos
The introduction video can be scripted and formed in many ways. This is a video which would be attached to your profile page of a website, or even the homepage. Some agents use these as their Zillow profile video and/or YouTube Subscriber video.
These videos are created to introduce you to your prospects and reintroduce you to your customers.
In this first video a young hard working agent shows you he’s quick to respond to your calls. This is an introduction video telling a story.
In this next video an agent who loves where she lives and this business shares her thoughts.
I love this video. It’s not of a Realtor or a real estate company but it’s a phenomenal example of how you “tell a story” with video.
Again this video has nothing to do with real estate, but it show an entrepreneur sharing his story and his business with the world. It’s simple but powerful for his brand.
Real Estate Office Videos
Videos for Facebook
Each one of these videos uses some comedy to share a story with.
Blooper bits added to the end.
Vlogging Videos
This agent rocks.
Her name is Jessica Riffle Edwards and I highly encourage you to check out her YouTube channel by CLICKING HERE and see the rest of the work she has done.
She does a weekly vlog answering one single question in every episode. It’s real, authentic, and she’s proof that video works.
Testimonial Videos
Using Humor
Pepsi really does a great job here.
