Behind Scenes Look at RESF in South Florida (Video)
This episode was recorded and shot LIVE in South Florida with Jorge Guerra at his Coral Gables, FL office.
In the video below, Jorge shares what I’m going to call his Networking/Database Marketing Plan for developing agent lead generation.
It’s a marketing exercise that I highly encourage any agent to take, regardless of your production level.
Social Media, videos, and having an online presence are all important, but if you aren’t already working your networks and sphere of influence then your business will most likely not reach it’s full potential in the long term.
This video was shot entirely with an iPhone 6.

How to Build a Real Estate Business as an Agent and a Brokerage
Jorge L. Guerra Jr. is the Broker/Owner of RESF (Real Estate Sales Force) in South Florida and what he is doing with this brokerage in terms of Branding, Social Media Marketing, Video Marketing, Agent Development & Training, and Teaching agents how to manage their Networks / Sphere of Influence, is something the entire industry should be looking at.
In an online world of buyers and sellers, RESF has built the “model” of the future for how brokerages, teams, or even individual agents should be operating.
Betting on technology, social media, branding, and training has paid off big time for RESF and the results speak for themselves: Today, RESF has just about 400 agents and multiple locations throughout south Florida.
I believe this is pretty impressive considering the company was started in 2005 during the real estate boom and it survived the crash of 2007-08.
How to use Video in Real Estate
Video plays a big role into the success of RESF.
Jorge didnt go to school or get a degree in filmmaking. He taught himself how to do it.
It’s exactly what I did in 2009 when I wanted to start making virtual tours for my own listings. There was no one out there offering it as a service so I figured it out on my own.
Jorge taught himself by watching YouTube videos and using good old fashioned Practice and Trial & Error to improve his skills and knowledge into creating videos.
Jorge uses a Canon 5D MarkIII with a 16mm Canon wide angle lens for shooting real estate photos and virtual tours.
With the help of an assistant Jorge is 100% hands on and shoots all of the videos and photos for RESF’s listings.
I’m a real estate photographer and videographer, and I can say it does take a lot of time and work to shoot, film, and edit real estate photos and videos at the volume of listings that RESF has.
Jorge has a pretty good streamlined process for shooting his photos and videos now and you can see the results of his work in the videos and photos below.
The biggest take away Jorge offered was:
1. Invest in your Gear.
2. Invest your time to learning how to use the Gear.
3. Just get started and make your first video.

How to use Social Media in Real Estate
Jorge Guerra gets Social Media.
He’s pretty big on how RESF brands themselves on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
If you watch the video above he gets into how each individual agent should use social media as a tool for “Touching” people in your networks.
They have very specific standards in fonts and colors for all of the online social media posts and offline print materials.
It’s some of the best I’ve ever seen for any real estate brokerage out there.

The Production of this Show
This episode was shot, recorded, and edited in both Coral Gables, Florida (at the RESF office) and Ft Lauderdale, Florida (At the Westin Hotel).
All video was shot using an iPhone 6 Plus. In addition, we used a RODE Video Micro shotgun microphone and an iOgrapher rig for holding the phone and microphone on a tripod and with handheld shots.
The film was edited in Final Cut X.
The podcast was recorded using two Audio Technica AT2005USB microphones and edited using Adobe Audition.
